Wellington Dam Trails

The Wellington Dam trail network is the crown jewel of mountain biking in the Ferguson Valley and one of the standout destinations in Western Australia. Accessed via Wellington Dam Road, the trails are split across two sides of the road, each offering a distinct riding experience.

 

On the western side you'll find trails like Black Glove, Wam Bam, Watts Up, Yikes, Whip'n Hollow and Dam It — a mix of flowing singletrack and technical terrain that winds through the jarrah forest above the dam.

Cross Wellington Dam Road and you're into a second network featuring Sika, Dandjoo, Elixir, Squi, Van Dam and more, with trails spreading out toward Potters Gorge and the stunning shoreline of the dam itself.

Riders can reach the Wellington Dam network from Honeymoon Pool by following a section of the iconic Munda Biddi trail and picking up the Jabitj or Sika Trail, making it possible to ride an epic multi-network day entirely on trail. The Currawong Pump Track sits right next to Potters Gorge campground, making it a great warm-up or wind-down option for younger riders.

For those wanting to make a full weekend of it, Potters Gorge campground sits on the shore of Wellington Dam within the jarrah and marri forest of Wellington National Park. The campground features gravel sites suitable for tents, caravans and camper trailers, a basic camp kitchen, gas BBQs, eco toilets and a dump point — everything you need for a proper trail weekend. Bookings are essential and can be made up to six months in advance.
